Matt Lucas has been in the franchising industry for 11 years. Matt’s specialty is within the Franchise Sales Discovery Process. His experience is very helpful for new to mid-sized franchisors looking to grow their brand as well as for the individual entrepreneur looking for the right franchise opportunity to start.
Matt got his start in franchising in 2006 as a franchisee of Cartridge Depot. He was able to successfully grow his location to be the top performing Cartridge Depot location throughout the entire system. Matt sold this business in 2013 to focus on his startup company, Digital Doc.
Matt originally founded Digital Doc in 2010 but didn’t begin franchising the model until the beginning of 2013. By the beginning of 2015 Digital Doc had grown to over 30 sold territories with 18 of these locations open and operating. Digital Doc was acquired in February of 2015 by Highland Ventures Ltd, a family-owned company out of Chicago, IL. Matt agreed to remain with Digital Doc as a Consultant for a period of two years post acquisition. He served as the Director of Franchise Sales managing the Franchise Sales Discovery and Lead Generation Processes. During those two years, Digital Doc added an approximate 50 franchised territories to the previous 30.
Matt left Digital Doc in February 2017 in order to focus full-time on The Franchising Company.
Matt’s past experiences as a franchisee, franchisor and franchise coach has been a valuable resource for our clients – both individual entrepreneurs and new to mid-sized franchisors looking to grow their brand.
